Legal
Terms and Conditions
Last updated 26 October 2026
Please read these terms before using LegalBharat. They explain what the platform does and does not do, your relationship with the professionals you meet through it, and the rules for using the website.
1.Acceptance of these terms
These terms govern your use of the LegalBharat website and services. By using the website, submitting an enquiry or registering a matter, you agree to them. If you are using LegalBharat on behalf of a company or other organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms on its behalf. If you do not agree, please do not use the services.
2.What LegalBharat is
LegalBharat is a technology platform that connects businesses and individuals with independent professionals: advocates enrolled with a State Bar Council, and chartered accountants and company secretaries who are members of ICAI and ICSI respectively. LegalBharat is not a law firm or a firm of chartered accountants or company secretaries, and does not itself provide legal, tax or professional advice.
In keeping with the Bar Council of India Rules, LegalBharat does not advertise or solicit work on behalf of any advocate, and advocate listings contain only factual information.
3.No legal advice from LegalBharat
Guides, articles and other material on the website are general information, not legal advice, and may not reflect the most recent changes in the law. Do not act or refrain from acting on the basis of that material without advice from a qualified professional on the facts of your own matter.
4.Who may use the services
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract under Indian law. A matter concerning a child must be registered by a parent or lawful guardian.
5.Your relationship with professionals
When a professional agrees to take on your matter, the professional relationship is between you and that professional directly. They are solely responsible for the advice, filings and representation they provide.
We verify each professional’s enrolment or membership before they take on a matter through the platform, but we do not supervise their work and we do not guarantee any outcome.
6.Fees
Submitting an enquiry to LegalBharat is free. If you engage a professional, the scope of work and the fee are agreed between you and the professional in writing before the work begins. You are free to decline any quote.
Matters relating to cyber crime and online fraud registered through the platform are handled without charge to you.
7.Your responsibilities
When you use the services, you agree to:
- give accurate and complete information about yourself and your matter;
- share only information and documents you are entitled to share;
- not register a false, frivolous or malicious matter;
- treat professionals and our staff with courtesy.
8.Calls and messages
By submitting your contact details, you agree that we and the professional assigned to your matter may contact you by phone, SMS, WhatsApp or email about that matter. We do not use your details for unrelated marketing.
9.Acceptable use
You must not:
- use the website for any unlawful purpose;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website or its systems;
- interfere with the website’s operation, including through automated scraping or excessive requests;
- upload material that is unlawful, defamatory or that infringes another person’s rights.
10.Intellectual property
The website, its design and its content belong to LegalBharat or its licensors. You may read, print and share pages for your own non-commercial use. Any other use requires our written permission.
11.Disclaimers
The website and services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do our best to keep them accurate and available, but we do not promise that they will be uninterrupted or free of errors, or that a professional will be available for every matter.
12.Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, LegalBharat is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the services, or for the acts, advice or omissions of any professional. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.
13.Indemnity
You agree to compensate LegalBharat for any loss or claim arising from your breach of these terms or from information you provide that is false or that you were not entitled to share.
14.Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end your access to the services if you breach these terms or misuse the platform. You may stop using the services at any time. Sections that by their nature should continue, such as limitation of liability and governing law, survive termination.
15.Privacy
How we handle personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
16.Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising from them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in India.
17.Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed. Continued use of the services after a change means you accept the updated terms.
