How it works
The entire process set out plainly, including where the money goes — which is nowhere near us.
- 01
You describe the matter
A short form: what happened, which city you are in, and the amount involved. About two minutes. Screenshots and documents can follow later; they are not needed to begin.
- 02
We route it to the right advocates
Your request is shown only to verified advocates practising in your city who handle that category. It is never published, never indexed by search engines, and never visible to other users.
- 03
An advocate accepts or declines
Advocates who can genuinely take the matter accept it. Your contact details are released at that point and not before.
- 04
You deal with them directly
There is no fee at any point — not for the consultation, not for drafting, filing or appearances. The relationship from here is entirely between you and the advocate, and LegalBharat stays out of it.
Frequently asked
What does this cost me?+
Nothing, at any stage. The advocates listed here take these matters free of charge, and LegalBharat charges neither users nor advocates and takes no commission. If anyone contacting you through this platform asks for money, that is not how this works — please report it to us.
Who can see what I write?+
Only the advocate who accepts your matter. It is not shown publicly, not shown to other users, and not indexed by search engines.
What does 'verified' mean here?+
It means we have checked that the Bar Council enrolment number is genuine, active and belongs to that person. It is a check on identity and standing. It is not a guarantee about the quality of anyone's work, and we do not offer one.
Does LegalBharat give legal advice?+
No. We are a platform that connects people to advocates. Only an advocate can advise on your matter. Our guides are general awareness material rather than advice.
How quickly will someone respond?+
Usually within 24 hours, though it depends on advocate availability. This is precisely why you should not wait for us — file your complaint at cybercrime.gov.in straight away, and message us on WhatsApp if you would rather talk it through.
I am an advocate. How do I join?+
Register through the sign-up page and select the advocate option. We verify your enrolment number before the profile goes live. Listings remain strictly factual, in keeping with Bar Council of India rules on advertising.
